The Brazilian Football Association has asked FIFA to block their players from playing in the Premier League this weekend.
Ahead of the international break, Premier League teams voted ‘reluctantly but unanimously’ to prevent their players from traveling for games which would be held in countries that are on the country’s red list.
Any player who travelled to a red list country during the break would need to isolate for a 10-day period at a hotel once they return back to the UK, which meant they would miss at least two games for their club.

Brazil’s FA has now made the move to stop the players who were not allowed to travel to South America from playing in the Premier League for the next round of matches.
Liverpool, Man City, Man United, Chelsea, Leeds have all been told by FIFA that a five-day restriction is in place for their Brazilian stars who were initially called up.
This decision means that Fabinho, Alisson and Firmino will be out of Liverpool’s match with Leeds United on Sunday. Meanwhile, Marcelo Bielsa’s team will be without Raphinha, who rejected his first call-up for Brazil.
Premier League side Manchester City are not able to select Ederson and Gabriel Jesus for their game against Leicester on Saturday.
Thiago Silva will also be absent for Chelsea’s two upcoming matches against Aston Villa and Zenit.
Manchester United will be without Fred for their matches against Newcastle and Young Boys in the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday.
Any Premier League team will risk forfeiting their game if they decide to ignore the request from FIFA.
Meanwhile, Brazil’s FA has decided to not impose any restrictions on Richarlison due to their good relationship with Everton, after they allowed the player to participate in the Copa America and the Olympics this summer.
