Former Chelsea player Wayne Bridge has named Mason Mount and Thiago Silva as the two standout players at the London club this campaign.
Bridge said this ahead of Chelsea’s Premier League match against Arsenal on Wednesday at Stamford Bridge. The blues have been impressive since Thomas Tuchel took over from Frank Lampard last January.
Chelsea are currently in the third position on the Premier League table and they also have FA Cup and Champions League finals to play against Leicester and Man City, respectively this month.
But Bridge has been very impressed with Tuchel since he became manager at Chelsea but praises Mount and Silva for their displays and overall impact throughout this campaign.
“Mason Mount stands out massively for me. Frank Lampard spoke very highly of him,” Bridge was quoted by Football London.
“He looks so comfortable on the ball and impresses me in every game he plays with the way he goes past players and is always looking for the ball and a bit of space. He is always trying to create something and has always been the most consistent performer.
“I was absolutely shocked when [Thomas] Tuchel first came in, and Mount didn’t play in one of the games. He’s proved a lot of doubters wrong.

“Thiago Silva has been massive for the players around him. He is got so much experience and helps the defenders around him, like Rudiger and Christensen. He has been a great addition to the squad, and well done to Lampard for getting him in.”
