Bruno Fernandes has made it clear that he will only consider leaving Manchester United if the club’s leadership no longer sees him as part of their plans.

After recovering from an injury, Fernandes rejoined the squad and put on a commendable performance during their 3-2 win against Newcastle on Wednesday evening. His return is timely for Erik ten Hag as the team prepares for a pivotal season finale against Brighton.
Despite recent rumors casting doubt on his future, widespread belief is that Fernandes will stay put at United. Nonetheless, there’s reported interest from the club Al-Nassr.
Fernandes, who boasts an impressive tally of 15 goals and 11 assists this campaign, has expressed his commitment to remain with United as long as he is valued by the club’s executives.
With INEOS coming in as new minority stakeholders, they are expected to initiate a comprehensive revamp of the team’s roster and organizational framework this summer.
Asked about his future, Fernandes told Sky Sports: “I will be here until when the club wants me and the club wants me to be a part of the future. If for some reason they don’t want me, then I will go.”
The 29-year-old midfielder is on the books at Manchester United until 2026. Recent reports from The Mirror suggest that his compatriot Cristiano Ronaldo is endorsing Al-Nassr’s interest in Fernandes.
Fernandes made a timely return to United’s lineup for the concluding matches of the Premier League season. His standout performance in the victory against Newcastle suggests he will be crucial for Ten Hag’s team in their upcoming match against Brighton.
With Manchester United currently in eighth place as they approach the season’s end, a win against Brighton is essential for them to maintain any chance of securing a European competition spot based on their league standing.
Otherwise, they will be relying on beating Manchester City in the FA Cup final to secure a place in the Europa League. Fernandes added: “Obviously the job isn’t finished yet. We still have one game in the Premier League then the biggest game of the season, the FA Cup final.
“It has been a tough season. The table shows that and we are all aware of that. The fans have been amazing and behind us all season. We all appreciate what they have been doing for us. We want to do better and do differently and they [fans] deserve that.
“They have been amazing for us and we had to do something, we have been trying but results don’t show that. We have been working hard and everyone has been giving their best it is not enough and we have to do more. We still have two games to go and we have to finish in the best way.
“It doesn’t exist, a captain’s performance, it is a team performance. I am no different from anyone just because I have the armband. I always try my best and we always do the best we can for the club – nobody hides that we play for a big club and we have to lift our standards every game.”
