Jamie Carragher takes swipe at Chelsea fans after they lose to Everton

Jamie Carragher took a swipe at Chelsea fans for their ‘nonsense’ chants during the match against Everton on Sunday.

The Toffees secured a 2-0 victory over Mauricio Pochettino’s team at Goodison Park with goals from Abdoulaye Doucoure and Lewis Dobbin.

Carragher, a Liverpool legend and a childhood Everton fan, expressed his ‘delight’ as Sean Dyche’s side took the lead following what he deemed as disrespectful chanting from Chelsea supporters.

The Blues fans were heard singing ‘feed the Scousers,’ referencing poverty in the city.

‘Feed the scousers,’ Carragher posted on Twitter along with a weary face emoji.

‘Delighted Everton have gone in front after the nonsense getting sung by the Chelsea fans.’

Meanwhile, Sean Dyche was ecstatic about his team’s triumph against Chelsea as Everton, dealing with a 10-point deduction this season, extended their distance from the relegation zone.

‘The biggest thing for me is finding different ways to win matches,’ Dyche said. ‘Today we have had to fight against a really good side.

‘We were going along well [before points deduction] and our form all season has been pretty good. We had to work very hard. Maximum effort from the players has got us the win.

‘The thing for me is the squad mentality. It’s not just about the starting XI. The people outside the starting XI have been a credit to themselves.

‘[Abdoulaye Doucoure has] been a credit since I walked in. He has accepted everything I have asked of him and more. He’s put endless miles on the clock. He is a credit to the team and the club.’
