According to Goal, the strike etched his name into Brazilian football history, making him the second-youngest player to score a competitive goal for the national team before turning 19, following Diego’s goal against Honduras in 2003.
However, the celebratory mood was briefly interrupted when Casemiro, frustrated after missing a scoring opportunity, reacted sharply to Estevao’s attempt to console him.
The young forward, formerly of Palmeiras, quickly apologized, but the moment didn’t go unnoticed.
Once footage of the incident surfaced on X, fans criticized Casemiro for his response, arguing that he had overreacted to a teenager simply trying to lift his spirits.

Some even suggested that the veteran midfielder allowed club tensions to spill into the national team environment.
@sportsdokitor said: “Now that’s the difference between him and someone like Thiago Silva, because why would you do that to an 18-year-old?”
@atommadeit wrote: “This is what happens when you play for Man Utd, you become neglected and disrespected as you are now a loser with nothing to show for. Estevao feels like a winner already playing for Chelsea and definitely sees Casemiro as a bum. can’t blame him.”
@TheCapableAY wrote: “I see many people laughing in the comments. This is not funny, Casemiro is a bad guy. You will never see Thiago Silva do something like this. If you are too old, then you leave the national team.”

Brazil national team head coach Carlo Ancelotti praised the Chelsea youngster before the game, hailed him as one of the best talents in football and compared him to Vinicius Jr.
“Yes. I think modern football has lost a bit of that type of player, who plays inside, as a midfielder. Football has more wingers, strong, fast, that type of player,” he said as quoted by Ge Globo.
“Estevao has a lot of quality and can also play inside. As we’re seeing in training. Raphinha, Vinicius, [Gabriel] Martinelli, they also play very well inside. That’s what modern football demands.”
