Jadon Sancho’s summer transfer from Manchester United to Chelsea is “completely finalized,” according to transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano.
He disclosed that Chelsea’s obligation to buy will be activated if they finish in the top 14 of the Premier League standings.
Sancho’s future at Manchester United was uncertain after he returned from a half-season loan at Borussia Dortmund, following a public dispute with Erik ten Hag.
Although the 24-year-old participated regularly in United’s pre-season, he was excluded from their first two Premier League matches, indicating his decline in the team hierarchy.

Romano, posting on X (formerly Twitter), confirmed that Sancho’s transfer to Stamford Bridge is complete. The deal includes a loan with an obligation to buy, contingent on Chelsea finishing in the top 14, with the purchase fee expected to be between £20 and £25 million, depending on performance-related bonuses.

James Ducker of The Telegraph took to X to reveal that the purchase fee will be dependent on where the west London side reside in the standings come the end of the current season; the higher the finish, the higher the fee.
