Chelsea new player Joao Pedro stole the show as he scored two superb goals to seal a 2-0 win for Enzo Maresca’s side.
As a result, they will now take on either Real Madrid or Paris Saint Germain in Sunday’s final.
Spanish La Liga giants Madrid and Champions League holders PSG will play at the MetLife Stadium on Wednesday evening.
Despite the win, Chelsea fans have urged the club to part ways with one player after a below-par display.
The player in question is Nicolas Jackson, who was brought on to replace Pedro in the 60th minute of the game.
Reacting on social media, one fan said: “Sell Jackson, absolute waste of space!”
Another tweeted: “After seeing that incredible performance from Jao Pedro last night, I want to plead with @ChelseaFC to allow Nikolas Jackson to leave the club asap.”
A third added: “Sell Jackson and give me another striker, please.”
Someone else said: “SELL JACKSON NOW.”
A fifth commented: “Anyone saying we should keep Jackson doesn’t mean well for this football club.”
Since the arrival of Liam Delap and Pedro, Jackson seems to have fallen down Maresca’s pecking order.
During the 24/25 campaign, Jackson managed 13 goals and five assists in 34 games across all competitions for Chelsea.
So far this summer, the 24-year-old striker has been linked with the likes of Arsenal and Juventus.
Speaking after the match against Fluminense, Pedro said: “I think it was a dream first start – I don’t think it could’ve been better. I’m very happy. I want to help the team. I knew I could score today, and that’s what I did. The team controlled the game today, did really well today and now we’re focused on the final.
“I think we have a great team, great players and it’s a pleasure to play with them. I think this season can be a great season for us.”
He added: “[With the first goal,] I saw the ball coming to me, and then I just tried to make the control quickly because then I knew their players could come at me fast, and I was happy to get my shot on target.
“For the second, Enzo found me, and I had more time to think about what I could do. I was happy to score.”
