Maresca took over from Mauricio Pochettino last summer, having impressed by guiding Leicester City to the Championship title.
His Chelsea reign began positively, with just two league defeats before Christmas. However, results have taken a turn for the worse, with only five wins in their last 16 Premier League outings.
Frustration among fans reached a boiling point during the weekend fixture, as supporters booed the team off the field at both half time and full time. Some even voiced their displeasure by chanting “boring” throughout the match.

And Maresca took a swipe at the Blues faithful after the game as he hissed: “We are stronger with our fans, we are a better team – and it’s up to them to decide the way to be.”
Maresca is facing increasing scrutiny, especially given the club’s recent history of managerial changes, having previously parted ways with Thomas Tuchel and Graham Potter before Mauricio Pochettino’s brief tenure.
However, The Sun reports that the Chelsea hierarchy currently has no intention of making another managerial switch.
The club’s leadership remains confident in the 45-year-old’s abilities, pointing to his strong work ethic and unwavering dedication as reasons to keep faith in him.
“Everyone at the club is totally on board and committed to getting us back in the Champions League,” a Blues source told the publication.
“Enzo, the board and the sporting directors are wedded to that ideal. If it doesn’t happen this season, there will be questions asked naturally. But as it stands Enzo is still seen as the man to take Chelsea forwards.”
Chelsea are set to resume their Premier League campaign on Sunday with a crucial west London derby against Fulham.
The Blues currently sit just one point behind fifth-placed Manchester City, with the top five teams securing Champions League spots for next season.
Before that showdown, however, they will welcome Legia Warszawa to Stamford Bridge for the second leg of their Europa Conference League quarter-final clash.
Maresca’s men head into the fixture with a commanding 3-0 advantage from the first leg in Poland, where Tyrique George opened the scoring shortly after halftime, followed by a second-half brace from Noni Madueke.
