Marc Cucurella ‘liked’ an Instagram post discussing Chelsea’s pursuit of Garnacho, suggesting fresh transfer activity.

The Blues have been strongly linked with the Argentine winger, and rumors have intensified ahead of next week’s deadline.

According to The Telegraph, Chelsea is preparing an opening bid to bring the 20-year-old to Stamford Bridge before the January window closes.

Sky Sports reports that Napoli, also interested in Garnacho, has now shifted their focus to other transfer targets.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano shared an update on Instagram on Thursday, which Cucurella ‘liked’, further hinting at Chelsea’s interest.

Romano’s post read: ‘Chelsea are now set to approach Man United for Alejandro Garnacho deal.

‘Man United insisting on huge transfer fee around €70m to sell him, Chelsea make formal approach as planned.

‘Napoli remain interested and attentive even after initial €50m package bid rejected, but talks are now ongoing for Adeyemi too as exclusively revealed on Tuesday.’

After Cucurella liked the post, Chelsea fan @webby09246 posted on Reddit: ‘I think it’s pretty safe to say that it’s on course to happen.

‘United need the money, we want him, he wants us and there is nobody else coming in for him. It’s bound to get done but please just not silly money.’

Thursday brought more speculation about Garnacho’s potential move to Chelsea when a United fan claimed on social media that the player’s brother had removed posts mentioning Cole Palmer and Nicolas Jackson.

Reportedly, before the season began, Garnacho’s brother stated that Palmer would not score 10 non-penalty goals in the league this season.

Romano, meanwhile, provided another update on Thursday as he posted on X: ‘Chelsea and Alejandro Garnacho, official approach plus formal bid to follow as reported earlier.

‘Man United insist on €70m fee, not an easy one but Chelsea plan to try.’
