Chelsea to meet Dortmund’s £120m Jadon Sancho asking price

Chelsea are ready to battle it out for the signing of Jadon Sancho this summer and have not been put off by Dortmund’s whopping asking price of £120m for the England winger.

There is set to be a tussle to sign Sancho before next campaign, with Chelsea, Manchester United, Manchester City and Liverpool all linked with a transfer for the player.

The teenager is expected to leave Borussia Dortmund after another good campaign in Germany, which has seen him score 17 goals in all competitions.

A return to his home country looks likely, with plenty of clubs interested in the Premier League and all aware of just how expensive he will be.

The Evening Standard claims that Chelsea are preparing to invest heavily in the summer and are not deterred by the £120m fee that Sancho’s club will be requesting for.

After losing Eden Hazard to Real Madrid last summer and not making any signings in the last two transfer windows, Chelsea have enough money to spend, especially if Lampard can guide them to a Champions League place this campaign.

However, that does not mean they will get him, with United ready to compete and City able to match any bid accepted by Dortmund if they want to re-sign the player.

Dortmund are keen to keep hold of one of their most valuable assets, although they would be happy to accept an offer of £120m if it did materialise.

Dortmund chief executive Hans-Joachim Watzke, rather optimistically, told BBC Sport this month: ‘I think he has the feeling that the club does have a good future. ‘In my opinion, I don’t think he wants to leave.’
