Chelsea to offer two players in £50m bid to sign Murillo from Nottingham

According to reports from Brazil, Chelsea have shown interest in acquiring Nottingham Forest defender Murillo.

Enzo Maresca’s team is searching for a new central defender after Thiago Silva’s departure and has already targeted Boca Juniors’ highly-rated 19-year-old Aaron Anselmino.

Nonetheless, Chelsea also aims to sign a defender who can immediately compete for a first-team spot, and Murillo aligns with their requirements after an impressive first season at Forest.

The 21-year-old joined the Premier League in a £15 million transfer from Brazilian club Corinthians last August and was one of Forest’s standout players as they narrowly avoided relegation.

Brazilian outlet UOL reports that Chelsea has approached Forest about a deal for Murillo, but Forest is demanding a £50 million fee for the centre-back.

Chelsea has reportedly told Forest that they will not meet this valuation and are considering including two players in the deal to offset the cost.

Atletico Madrid has also shown strong interest in Murillo and has already spoken with his representatives.

However, the Spanish club is also deterred by Forest’s £50 million asking price.

In an appearance on the Brazilian show Os Donos da Bola last week, Murillo suggested that he is open to leaving Forest after just one season.

‘I’ve received a few offers. Some official, others sounding out,’ Murillo said.

‘I’ll take it up with my agent. They were clubs from England, Italy and Germany.

‘If I stay at Nottingham, I’ll do my best. If I leave, I hope they respect my decision. I’m calm and analysing it in the best way.’
