Chelsea ‘will back’ Enzo Maresca with four key signings to transform the team

Reports suggest Chelsea is gearing up to support their newly appointed manager Enzo Maresca with four pivotal acquisitions aimed at revitalizing the team.

Following a substandard performance in the 23/24 season, Mauricio Pochettino parted ways with Chelsea last week.

Pochettino struggled to harness the full potential of his squad, culminating in a lackluster sixth-place finish in the Premier League.

Despite a strong finish with five consecutive league victories, it was a mutual decision for Pochettino to step down as manager.

Amidst widespread speculation, it’s been reported that Leicester City’s Maresca is poised to succeed Pochettino, having secured a five-year contract.

Maresca is about to embark on his Premier League managerial debut after a commendable tenure with the Foxes.

With the summer transfer window on the horizon, Chelsea is reportedly prepared to endorse Maresca’s vision with four strategic signings.

According to The Sun, Chelsea’s radar is fixed on Napoli’s Victor Osimhen, who reportedly has a £113 million release clause.

Osimhen has been consistently associated with a move to the Premier League, and Stamford Bridge appears to be a viable landing spot.

In addition to Osimhen, Chelsea is considering Burnley’s goalkeeper James Trafford.

Maresca is in search of a goalkeeper adept at initiating plays from the back, and Trafford is believed to fit this profile.

Chelsea is also keeping tabs on Fulham’s Tosin Adarabioyo, who is on the brink of free agency.

While the identity of the fourth target, presumed to be a left-back, remains undisclosed, Chelsea’s summer spending hinges on their ability to comply with the Premier League’s Profit and Sustainability Rules.

Players such as Conor Gallagher, Ian Maatsen, Armando Broja, and Trevoh Chalobah might be on the move as Chelsea aims to recalibrate their finances in preparation for a transformative summer.
