Levi Colwill has surprising transfer stance on Bayern Munich move

Bayern Munich remain determined to sign Chelsea star Levi Colwill, despite the challenge of meeting Chelsea’s transfer valuation.

The England international rejoined his boyhood club last season after a successful loan spell at Brighton.

Under Mauricio Pochettino, Colwill became a regular, playing both as a left-back and in his preferred central defense role.

Recognizing an opportunity, Bayern have already made an enquiry, as reported by Sky Germany.

Despite the significant gap in the two clubs’ valuations, Colwill is reportedly interested in a move to the Bundesliga giants if they can make an offer that tempts Chelsea.

New Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca has not yet started working with his squad, but the club has already signed Tosin Adarabioyo from Fulham on a free transfer.

The 26-year-old is expected to join Chelsea’s backline next season, adding competition for Colwill, who is already contending with Axel Disasi and Benoit Badiashile for a starting spot.

‘I’m very excited and looking forward to helping push the club in the direction we want to go,’ said Adarabioyo, upon confirmation of his arrival this month.

Co-sporting directors Paul Winstanley & Laurence Stewart added: ‘We are delighted to bring Tosin to Chelsea. Throughout his career, he has showcased his maturity and defensive qualities and has gained a wealth of experience in the Premier League in recent seasons.

‘He is ready to make the step up to Chelsea and work alongside the talented players in our squad. We look forward to Tosin joining up with us for pre-season.’

Bayern Munich are eager to bolster their defense as they prepare to challenge Bayer Leverkusen for the Bundesliga title.

They have identified Jonathan Tah, a key defender from Leverkusen’s unbeaten domestic campaign, as a potential target.

However, Tah is currently on international duty with Germany at Euro 2024 and will not consider his future until later in the summer transfer window.
