Levi Colwill claims ‘VAR has something against me’ after Man Utd loss

Chelsea’s Levi Colwill believes that VAR is biased against him following a ‘frustrating night’ against Manchester United on Wednesday.

The Blues, aiming to capitalize on Sunday’s 3-2 victory over Brighton, faced a 2-1 defeat at Old Trafford, where Scott McTominay scored both goals for the hosts.

Chelsea’s position in the Premier League table remains 10th after the result, trailing 11 points behind the top four in what has been a disappointing campaign so far.

Post-match, Colwill, the Chelsea defender, criticized VAR for two separate incidents—one against Brighton and another against United.

‘VAR has something against me right now, I don’t know what I’ve done to them,’ Colwill told the Chelsea website.

‘Against Brighton they tried to give a pen, and then when I got pulled [by McTominay] they didn’t give anything.

‘If I had pulled him like that they would have given a penalty. It is what it is.

‘It was a frustrating night. We had chances that if we’d taken would have made the game quite different, but it’s part of the game and we’ll move on from it come the weekend against Everton.’

Colwill has solidified his place in the Chelsea starting lineup this season, building on an impressive loan spell at Brighton last year.

The 20-year-old Englishman has featured in 14 Premier League matches this season and was entrusted with the captain’s armband in the match against United on Wednesday.
