Amorim, who is determined to strengthen United’s frontline this summer, has reportedly made Cunha one of his priority signings.

According to MailOnline, United are planning to act swiftly by activating Cunha’s release clause as soon as the transfer window opens on June 1.

The report also claims Amorim sees Cunha fitting into his system as a No.10 in his preferred 3-4-3 setup, and the player is enthusiastic about playing under the Portuguese coach.

The two shared a brief moment during United’s 1-0 defeat to Wolves at Old Trafford on Sunday, with TV cameras capturing Amorim putting an arm around Cunha as they walked down the tunnel at halftime.

Prior to the match, Amorim had also praised Cunha’s attacking abilities, highlighting him as a key threat.

‘Wolves have many quality players like Matheus Cunha. It won’t be easy,’ Amorim said.

‘I just gave the example of Cunha because I remember about Matheus scoring a lot of goals, just that.’

In addition, MailOnline reported that Manchester United are aiming to secure a swift deal for Ipswich striker Liam Delap once the summer transfer window opens.

Delap is expected to be available for £30 million due to a relegation release clause in his contract, which will come into effect once Ipswich’s expected drop from the Premier League is confirmed.
