Manchester United’s pursuit of Jadon Sancho has been given a huge boost after Dortmund showed willingness to accept payments in three installments.
The German side are set to lose the winger this summer but they are refusing to compromise on the asking price.
United had been confident of getting a deal done for Sancho before the pandemic and the club were warming to the idea of paying his club’s asking price.
However, the coronavirus pandemic has affected club finances and the Red devils felt that should be taken into account in talks to sign the winger.
But, with Dortmund unwilling to compromise, United are looking at other possibilities of meeting the demands and they have suggested paying the transfer fee in three instalments.
The first would be the biggest instalment of around £63m before another two instalments in years to come worth £27m and £18m, according to Bild.
While this route is regularly used when it comes to large transfers, Dortmund had been keen on receiving the fee in one lump sum, meaning they have now softened their stance.
Dortmund are willing to accept the payments, as it would mean they receive the player’s asking price.
Solskjaer is so keen to have Sancho in his squad at least three weeks before United begin their Premier League campaign in mid-September
