After the final whistle, Michael Oliver sent off Abdoulaye Doucoure and Curtis Jones for their altercation.
He also issued red cards to Slot and his assistant Sipke Hulshoff, both of whom had heated outbursts.
New footage has surfaced, revealing Slot’s confrontation with the match officials, shedding light on the reason for his red card.
Slot’s on-field outburst began with him confronting the linesman. He can be seen gesturing animatedly before speaking to Oliver and then shaking his hand angrily.
Slot was subsequently shown a red card. Lip reading expert Jeremy Freeman has since revealed what Slot said during his outburst.
“That’s not a push? It’s a f**king disgrace… if you go and watch that again,” he exclaimed.
To the other linesman, he sarcastically said: “Well done.”
Just before shaking hands with Oliver, again, sarcastically, he said: “Great game.”
After the red card, the Liverpool head coach added: “Sure, you give me a red for that? I will check it out for later… me and you yeah? Sure give me a red card… we’ll talk after?”
Slot is set to be banned from the touchline when his team resume their Premier League campaign against Wolves.
Speaking after the match, Virgil van Dijk expressed his ‘disappointment’ at the result.
“I think the feeling right now is obviously disappointment, that’s pretty obvious, and it will be for today and tonight. But from tomorrow we focus on Wolves and we try to get the three points then and so on and so on,” he told TNT Sports.
“We all know that we have a lot of games up until the international break so there is no point to dwell too much on this result. We wanted to win here, we could have won here, maybe we should have won here. But it is what it is – we take it and move on.”
Despite dropping points against Everton, Liverpool extended their lead at the top of the table to seven points.
