Fabinho return date revealed in huge boost for Liverpool

Fabinho

Liverpool midfielder Fabinho is expected to recover from a hamstring injury in time to return to football action after the international break.

The Brazilian star was forced off during Liverpool’s Champions League group stage victory over Midtjylland last week and there were fears that he could miss up to three months.

Fabinho was filling in at centre-back for the injured Virgil van Dijk and Klopp was expected to stick with him in the Dutchman’s absence.

However, the Athletic claim that Fabinho will be fine to return after the international break in time for the Reds’ game against Leicester City at Anfield.

‘I think he’ll be back straight after the international break. That’s the hope,’ Athletic reporter James Pearce said on the Red Agenda Podcast.

‘Brazil were informed that he wouldn’t be fit enough to go away on international duty. ‘Klopp seemed pretty hopeful last week that he’d be able to’.

Fabinho has already been pulled from Brazil’s upcoming internationals but he’ll be aiming at a return against Brendan Rodgers’ Leicester after the break.

His injury means Fabinho will now miss this weekend’s game against Manchester City at the Etihad.
