Fabregas snubs Henry as he names three most gifted Arsenal teammates

Cesc Fabregas has overlooked Thierry Henry when asked about who his most technically gifted team-mate was at Arsenal.

The Spaniard spent just shy of a decade in north London, breaking through in and around the Invincible era before becoming a leader himself at the heart of midfield.

Henry was his colleague until he left for Barcelona in 2007 – a move Fabregas would repeat four years later. The Frenchman, also the club’s record goalscorer is for some, the best player in the Premier League.

Despite that though Fabregas has named Rosicky, Alexander Hleb and club legend Dennis Bergkamp above him when asked on social media about his thoughts.

Fabregas did a Q&A and was asked: “Who was the best technically gifted player you played with at Arsenal?” to which he replied: “Bergkamp, Rosicky and Hleb.”

The Dutchman is idolised in north London, having first joined in the 1990s. He remained at Arsenal until 2006, by which time his peak was past him, but the player continued to produce moments of magic.

Bergkamp now has a statue outside the Emirates having scored 120 goals for Arsenal and being named the PFA Player of the Year back in 1998.

Fabregas’ huge admiration for Bergkamp has previously been on show on social media. He hit back at a broadcaster who questioned the Dutchman’s legacy saying: “If you don’t think Bergkamp was that good, then you don’t understand this sport at all.”

Rosicky and Hleb meanwhile were signed as Fabregas began to assert himself in the Gunners’ starting XI. The former joined after the World Cup in 2006, spending a decade in London. The Spaniard once spoke about Rosicky: “He was stupendous. Love him! Little Mozart.”

Hleb spent three years at the Emirates having signed from Bayer Leverkusen in 2005. He joins the list of players to swap Arsenal for Barcelona but left his mark in the capital due to his quality. Fabregas has claimed the Belarus star was the most underrated player he’d played alongside.

Fabregas may have overlooked Henry, but he has name-dropped the Arsenal legend several times when asked about his best ever team-mates.

The Frenchman has been equally as complimentary about the Spanish star, previously saying: “Sometimes people do not mention it. People rightly talk about Kevin De Bruyne right now because the guy is unbelievable and David Silva unbelievable but for me you’re up there with those guys.”
