Stanley Nwabali, the goalkeeper based in South Africa, delivered a standout performance.
He earned the Man of the Match title as the Super Eagles clinched victory over South Africa via penalties in their Wednesday semi-final clash.
Although the match concluded with a 1-1 draw in regular time and extra time, Nigeria emerged triumphant with a 4-2 scoreline in the shootout, largely due to Nwabali’s heroics in saving two penalties.
In a display of solidarity with the three-time African champions, the English football legend adorned his social media with multiple Nigerian flags and shared a photo donning the Super Eagles jersey, prominently featuring “Ferdinand 5” inscription.
