Now in his second year, signs point to him not continuing beyond the current campaign with the Catalan side.
According to ABC Futebol, Flick is ‘very tired’ and has reached a breaking point due to the team’s inconsistent start to the season.
Since September, the 60-year-old has been sharing his desire to leave with his inner circle, suggesting his tenure wouldn’t go beyond three seasons.
He has yet to speak directly with Deco and Joan Laporta, but has already opened up to his assistants and analysts about his plans.
The report notes that he’s expressed disappointment over the squad’s lack of discipline and the limited backing he’s received from the club’s leadership.
ABC Futebol also claim Yamal has significantly contributed to Flick’s discontent.
The experienced German coach is unhappy with the club’s tolerance of the 18-year-old’s ‘eccentricities’, such as flying to Milan after an El Clasico loss instead of returning with the team.
There’s also the matter of the ‘strictly forbidden rule’ surrounding the use of golf-cart-style buggies at the training facility.
These vehicles are designated for staff who require them for work-related purposes. Players are discouraged from using them due to their fragility and cost.
Yet, according to the report, Yamal frequently drives one at will, prompting a staff member to trail him in another buggy to prevent potential injury.
Senior figures in the dressing room were also displeased with Yamal’s involvement in the Kings League just days before a key match against Real Madrid.
Flick might be more forgiving of these incidents if the young star’s form matched last season’s standards.
Yamal’s struggles have been worsened by a lingering groin issue, which the report links to a lack of commitment.
So far this season, the talented winger has netted four goals in nine appearances, after featuring 55 times across all competitions last year.
Barcelona currently trail league leaders Real by five points and have claimed two wins from their first three Champions League fixtures ahead of their clash with Club Brugge.
