Ben Foster labels Man Utd an ‘absolute disgrace’ in brutal attack

Ben Foster has criticized Manchester United’s Casemiro, attributing the midfielder’s lapse in defense as the reason for a goal he described as ‘absolute disgrace’.

Manchester United narrowly avoided a loss against AFC Bournemouth in their recent encounter, managing to secure a 2-2 draw despite a controversial decision that saw Bournemouth not being awarded a penalty towards the end of the match.

Ex-United shot-stopper Foster expressed his anger towards Casemiro for not preventing Bournemouth’s second goal, netted by Justin Kluivert.

‘The second goal, Casemiro, he’s a holding midfielder,’ Foster said on his YouTube channel.

‘He should be that engine, that rat in the midfield, the disruptor – somebody that breaks up all the attacks, gets in people’s faces.

‘The second goal, for me, is an absolute disgrace. It’s an absolute disgrace. He’s allowed to wander into that space and get his shot off.

‘Casemiro almost notices at the last second, meanders in, hangs a leg in there, and I’m thinking, do you know what? If I was a manager of a team and my holding midfielder did that, that action there and then, I’d say that’ll do. You, come off.’

Meanwhile, fellow pundit Micah Richards took aim at Diogo Dalot after Man United’s draw against Bournemouth.

Highlighting the club’s defensive problems, Richards said: ‘It was Man United’s right-hand side. I was a bit disillusioned with what was going on.

‘So Dalot goes inside – we know full-backs do that, we showed that [earlier] with Spurs – and the reason why he’s doing that is so Garnacho could be free.

‘But he goes into one position, then he goes into another position, but he doesn’t affect Bournemouth in any way.

‘Bruno Fernandes is telling him to go back in his position, the centre-halves are not going wide [to cover].

‘They win the first ball but lose the second ball, and now a young player – Wily Kambwala – has been exposed to Dominic Solanke. Yes, Solanke does ever so well, but where is the protection?’
