Manchester United’s strong desire to sign a striker in the upcoming transfer market might be realized as Arsenal have been advised against signing Viktor Gyokeres.
Since Ruben Amorim’s arrival at Old Trafford, United are expected to be very active during the transfer window.

A player Amorim is keen to bring to Manchester is Swedish forward Viktor Gyokeres, who has scored 26 goals in 24 matches across all competitions this season.
Gyokeres, a former Coventry striker, thrived under Amorim’s coaching, and given United’s struggles to score this season, he would be a valuable addition. Funds could become available for the forward if Marcus Rashford departs the club.
If United pursue Gyokeres, they would need to compete with Arsenal, who are also reportedly interested. However, former Arsenal defender Martin Keown believes the Gunners should seek a player who is a better fit for their team.
He told The Oxford Mail: “The players who are there at the moment need to start scoring goals fast don’t they otherwise Mikel [Arteta] will put his hand in his pocked and buy a forward.
“…[Gyokeres is] not quick enough. And he wouldn’t have been quick enough in my day.”
UEFA reports that the Swedish striker has reached a top speed of 34.55 km/h in the Champions League this season, placing him 55th in the competition alongside Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah.
Amorim, who is well aware of Gyokeres’ abilities, might be particularly interested. Although Gyokeres has an £84 million release clause, it is suggested that Sporting would consider offers around £63 million.
