After the final whistle, Arsenal players mocked Haaland, who had a noteworthy reaction.
During the match, Lewis-Skelly appeared to taunt Haaland by mimicking the Man City star’s celebration.
Arsenal posted an image of Lewis-Skelly doing the Haaland celebration, accompanied with the caption: “THIS TEAM.”
Haaland’s dad, Alfie, responded to Arsenal’s social media post with a very brutal dig.
On X, he wrote: “«This Team» that wins everything. Ehhhhh, not.”
Arsenal are still chasing their first Premier League title under Mikel Arteta, despite closely challenging Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City in the past two seasons.
The Gunners have finished as runners-up to City in the last two league campaigns, with the Blues securing four consecutive titles.
However, a fifth successive league title for City seems improbable this season, as they currently trail Liverpool by 15 points.
Speaking after his side’s defeat, Guardiola said: “We’re giving away too many things. We’re aware [of this] we talk, and this can happen. But we reacted really well and we played with personality, we defended so good and with the ball we were quite a threat
“You have to overcome, you cannot lose the control, it’s 90, 95 minutes. You cannot finish in the way we played, we could’ve scored three more but the team has to be stable it doesn’t matter what happened.”
Man City return to action next Saturday when they resume their FA Cup campaign with a game against Leyton Orient.
