Erling Haaland has just astonished everyone with what might be considered the season’s most surprising miss.
In the 8th minute, Marcus Rashford propelled Manchester United ahead with a spectacular goal from beyond the box.
- Referee explains why Darwin Nunez’s goal for Liverpool vs Nottingham should’ve been ruled out
- Zinedine Zidane named the only three teams that he would manage
- Real Madrid doctor claimed Cristiano Ronaldo isn’t the greatest athlete he worked with
However, for most of the game, it has been a one-sided affair, with the home team relentlessly attacking in pursuit of a goal.
Andre Onana has been compelled to pull off several saves, while the United defense has been exceptional, executing remarkable blocks and tackles.
Yet, the prime opportunity to score arose in the 45th minute for Erling Haaland, only for him to inexplicably miss from close range.

Speaking on commentary for Sky Sports, former Man United man Gary Neville reacted to Haaland’s miss. He said: “Oh my gosh. What has he just done. What has he not done…
“They’ve been working it and working it and finally we thought they got perfection. Until that. He missed chances a few weeks ago against Chelsea.”
Neville added: “Pep Guardiola cannot believe it. It’s a startling thing we’ve just seen. Is he trying to put it into the top of the net? Is he trying to be clever?”
During the half-time break, Roy Keane was full of praise for Rashford, he said: “It was a brilliant goal and a brilliant first half that has flown by with chances everywhere.
“McTominay makes a great run in terms of taking players away. From the long kick upfield, it’s as simple as you like.
“But then it’s world class from Marcus Rashford. He’s done it before and there’s no problem with his body language today.”
