Erling Haaland issues response to Chelsea transfer speculation

Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Haaland has opened the door on a possible transfer by refusing to rule out a move to Chelsea.

The Norwegian star is the most sought after player in world football after a stunning 18 months in Germany. He has scored 57 goals in 59 matches, ascending to one of Europe’s best strikers.

The Bundesliga side have been steadfast in their insistence Haaland will remain at the club, despite interest from the Premier League.

Manchester United, Manchester City and Chelsea have all been linked with a move for the attacker, as they search for long-term options in the striker position.

But Pep Guardiola has hinted Man City may not be able to afford the fee that Haaland would command, while the Red devils look as if their focus is elsewhere.

That leaves Chelsea, with Thomas Tuchel making it clear that he needs to add goals to his team, despite winning the Champions League last campaign.

Football London claims that after asking Haaland if he will leave Dortmund, amid the interest from Chelsea, he chose to remain silent, simply offering a smile in response.

This is coming after Roman Abramovich, reportedly released cash for the deal to sign the player. The Chelsea owner is a huge admirer of Haaland and is not prepared to give up in his efforts to sign him.

However, Dortmund sporting director, Sebastian Kehl, recently said that Haaland will remain at the club next season.

“Haaland to Chelsea? I read about it, but for us, nothing has changed: we have plans with Erling for next season, he and his agent are aware of it. We expect him back this week,” Kehl said.
