Haaland sends message to Jadon Sancho after completing Man Utd transfer

Erling Haaland has congratulated Jadon Sancho after his now former Dortmund teammate completed his transfer move to Manchester United.

The Red devils finally confirmed the signing of the England international after a transfer saga that spanned the last four transfer windows.

Sancho looked set to join United last summer having agreed personal terms, but the transfer collapsed late in the day with Dortmund refusing to reeuce their £120million valuation for the player.

The 21-year-old was then forced to remain with the German side for another season, during which his partnership, and friendship with Haaland flourished well.

Haaland, himself, is a wanted man by several teams this summer but he appears likely to remain at Dortmund, despite significant interest from European top sides.

Regardless of his future, Haaland was happy to see Sancho finally complete his dream move to Manchester United and is hoping to see the winger light up England.

Haaland wrote on Instagram: ‘Good luck on your next journey bro, we had some good times together! Can’t wait to see you shine!’

However, speaking for the first time, since finally landing his primary target, United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer could not hide his delight.

‘Jadon epitomises the type of player I want to bring to the club, he is a forward player in the best traditions of Manchester United,’ explained the Norwegian coach.

‘He will form an integral part of my squad for years to come and we look forward to seeing him blossom. ‘His goals and assists records speak for themselves and he will also bring tremendous pace, flair and creativity to the team.

‘Old Trafford will give him the platform he needs to release his untapped talent and perform at the highest level.

‘For a player of his age, Jadon has already achieved a great deal and showed the courage to go and prove himself abroad. ‘We all look forward to welcoming Jadon to the squad as we prepare for the new campaign.’
