Erling Haaland says he is ‘proud’ to be playing for Borussia Dortmund as Chelsea close in on their deal to sign Romelu Lukaku.
The Norwegian striker was Chelsea’s top target this summer but Dortmund have been adamant throughout the summer that he would remain with them for at least another campaign.
The Blues were also at a major disadvantage as a deal for Haaland was expected to cost more than £150 million.

Instead, the Champions League holders have now turned their attention to Lukaku and are now on set to complete a £97.5m move for their former player.
Haaland, meanwhile, gave no indication that he wanted to leave Dortmund and the player expressed his love for the club after their 3-0 victory over SV Wehen Wiesbaden at the weekend.
‘It’s nice to win, nice to score three goals and just nice to be back,’ said Haaland.
‘It’s incredible to have the fans back in the stadiums. ‘It’s a good feeling to see them here and I’m proud to be a part of this club.’
Borussia Dortmund’s head of first-team football, Sebastian Kehl, also reiterated their stance that Haaland was not for sale this summer transfer window.
‘We have made our decision clear,’ said Kehl. ‘Erling feels super comfortable here. He wants to achieve something with this team and I don’t get the feeling at all that he wants to leave.’
