The Reds have undergone a midfield overhaul after a poor 2022/23 campaign, seeing Jordan Henderson and Fabinho join the Saudi Pro League, while Milner has left for Brighton.
There are reports that Thiago could be next, due to his injury history and dwindling impact that saw him have just 28 appearances in all competitions last term, his lowest total since 2014/15.
Klopp’s side have signed Alexis Mac Allister from Brighton and Dominik Szoboszlai from Leipzig, and this might be thier last chance to recoup a fee for Thiago, whose contract expires next summer.
“He is the most overrated player in European football,” Hamann said, as per Marca.
“When things are going well and you have a lot of possession, he’s a good player, but when it’s time to put things in their place and take control, he doesn’t.
“I don’t understand the hype that is given to him. He’s a decent player, not a great player, as many people have said.”
Reports in Spain claim that Thiago has rejected advances from the Saudi Pro League, and that he would be keen to return to his homeland, with Rafael Benitez’s Celta Vigo keen.
The Sky Germany pundit added: “Surely he has teams interested in him, but yes, they have a lot of possession. He could have a market in Spain.”
