Eden Hazard admits he did not celebrate Chelsea’s Champions League triumph and is keen to see Real Madrid reclaim the trophy from the blues.

Thomas Tuchel’s side beat Manchester City 1-0 in Porto on Saturday to win football’s biggest club competition for a second time in their history.

Chelsea knocked out Real Madrid in the semi-finals before winning a the final and denying City their first Champions League trophy.

Hazard spent seven years at Chelsea before joining Madrid in 2019 but says he did not celebrate their triumph as his focus is only based on bringing trophies back to the Bernabeu.

‘Of course not, I’m a Real Madrid player so I am not happy,’ said Hazard. ‘I am just happy for a couple of friends in the team, but I hope next season it’s for Real Madrid.’

After helping Chelsea win the competition, Mason Mount said: ‘We are in a final and we won it. It’s such a special occasion.

‘I can’t put it into words. It’s impossible. I’ve played in two [previous] finals for Chelsea and we lost them both. It’s all I’ve dreamt of, winning a trophy with Chelsea.

Tuchel, who replaced Frank Lampard in January, said: ‘To share it with everybody is incredible. We made it. Wow. I don’t know what to feel.

‘I was so grateful to arrive a second time [in the final]. I felt different. The [players] were determined to win this. We wanted to be a stone in their shoe.

‘We encouraged everybody to step up and step out, to be more brave and create dangerous counter-attacks. It was a tough physical game. We had to help each other out.’
