The huge amount Mason Mount has been paid per minute of football at Man Utd

Manchester United’s midfielder, Mason Mount, has garnered a substantial sum for every minute he’s played in the Premier League this season.

Mount transferred from Chelsea to Old Trafford last summer with a transfer fee of £55 million, which could escalate to £60 million.

A lifelong association with Chelsea since age six came to an end for Mount as he moved on in the last year of his contract at Stamford Bridge.

The 25-year-old inherited the iconic number seven jersey left by Cristiano Ronaldo and marked his United debut in the season opener against Wolves.

However, his momentum was halted by a hamstring injury after only two games, sidelining him for five matches.

Mount returned in November with a standout performance in United’s 1-0 triumph over Luton, hinting at a season revival.

Yet, another muscle injury delayed his return until March, when he netted his inaugural goal for United against Brentford in the Premier League.

Persistent muscle problems led to sporadic appearances for the rest of the season, culminating in a brief stint in the FA Cup final, where United edged out Manchester City 2-1.

Reportedly, Mount’s contract with United is valued at approximately £250,000 weekly, as per The Telegraph.

Based on these numbers, Mount’s annual earnings since joining United amount to £13 million. By the onset of the next season, he will have earned £25,390 for each of his 512 minutes played in the Premier League.

Excluded from England’s Euro 2024 squad, Mount will utilize the full pre-season with United to gear up for the forthcoming season, aiming to capitalize on the positive aspects of his fitness towards the last season’s end for a more impactful upcoming season.
