Jorginho’s agent hints at Juventus move which will fund Chelsea’s bid for Declan Rice

Jorginho Declan Rice

Jorginho’s agent has left the door open for the player to join Juventus in a move that could fund a Chelsea bid for West Ham star Declan Rice.

Chelsea are unlikely to stand in his way if Juventus make a good offer for Jorginho this summer, given his limited playing time since the Project restart.

Frank Lampard wants to bring Rice back to Stamford Bridge, but West Ham United want at least £65million.

Rice is also believed to be interested in a Chelsea return, although he is unlikely to make any attempt to force his way out of the club.

That means the blues will need to make a huge bid to convince the Hammers to sell Rice and cashing in on Jorginho would help achieve that.

Asked about Sarri’s interest in signing Jorginho, his agent, Joao Santos, did not deny that a move could happen if Juve can find an agreement with Chelsea.

Santos said: “Sarri has never called Jorginho personally to talk about Juventus. I know there’s talk in the papers, but we have never had direct contact with Sarri or even director of sport Fabio Paratici.

“When the directors Paratici and Marina Granovskaia find an agreement, if they find an agreement, then and only then can I talk about the situation.

“Everyone knows there is a very strong rapport between Sarri and Jorginho after five years working together, I’d be a hypocrite to deny that, but I also want to remind you that Jorginho has three years left on his Chelsea contract.”

Rice is very much attractive to Lampard for many of reasons, as the player can operate in midfield or in defence and has shown good leadership skills at West Ham.

Declan Rice played for Chelsea’s academy until the age of 14 and still knows many players and staff who are still present at the club.
