Jorginho has revealed what his Italy team-mates said about Romelu Lukaku’s work ethic before the striker’s return to Chelsea in the summer transfer window.
Lukaku has been in sensational form since returning to Stamford Bridge from Inter in a club-record £97.5m move last month, scoring seven goals in six matches for club and country.
On Tuesday, Lukaku came to the rescue with a 69th-minute header against Zenit to get Chelsea’s defence of the UEFA Champions League off to a winning start.

Speaking after Chelsea’s win, Jorginho said the Belgian star ‘deserved’ to make an impact due to his ‘mentality’ both on matchdays and in training.
‘They (Italy team-mates who played with Lukaku) said that he works a lot, he can help a lot, he tries to talk, he works hard,’ Jorginho explained.
‘We are really happy that he is really helping everyone. ‘That’s what everyone does here, we try to help each other — and he came with the right mentality, working and trying to help.
‘So I’m really happy for him as well because he works so hard during training and deserves every goal. A big impact is well deserved.’
Antonio Rudiger has also been impressed by Lukaku’s ‘big personality’ which he believes has brought a new dimension to the club’s attack.
‘He is a striker of great class,’ the Chelsea defender said. ‘He has a big personality but what is more important is the team, not only one player.
‘Of course, to have a great player like him is very good but the reason we won the Champions League last year is we did it as a team.’
