Matthijs de Ligt will now sign for Juventus after the Serie A champions agreed an €82 million (£71.6m) deal with Ajax, according to reports.
The 19-year-old defendet has attracted interest from several big clubs in Europe including Barcelona, Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester United.
Barcelona were in the frontline to sign De Ligt but their refusal to increase their bid after further talks with his agent Mino Raiola paved way for Juventus to gain the upper hand.
And according to widespread reports in Italy, De Ligt will join Juventus after the Seria A giants finally reached an agreement with his team Ajax.
Dutch journalist Mike Verweij claimed the defender left the first-team squad in Austria, with Juventus reportedly completing the required paperwork.
On Friday afternoon, Verweij tweeted: “Matthijs De Ligt is no longer with Ajax on a training camp in Austria awaiting completion of his transfer.”
He also posted: “Ajax and Juventusagree on transfer fee Matthijs De Ligt. Paperwork now in order. Transfer complete.”
Juventus will pay an initial €70m (£61.6m) fee plus another possible €12m (£10.4m) which is included in add-ons.
De Ligt has also agreed a deal worth €12m (£10.4m) a season with Juventus and will arrive in Italy next week to finalise his move to Italy.
The Netherlands international has returned to pre-season training with Ajax but will not travel to the squad for their camp in Austria.
