Roy Keane names the team that will win the Premier League next season

Manchester United legend Roy Keane has tipped Manchester City to win the Premier League again in 2022/23 ahead of Klopp’s Liverpool.

Alongside other Sky Sports pundits including Graeme Souness and Micah Richards, Keane was making his predictions and said that once again the title fight will be a race between just the Citizens and the Reds.

That is in spite of clubs like Chelsea, Tottenham and Arsenal signing a number of impressive players in a bid to challenge for the top prize.

‘I don’t think they will close the gap,’ Keane told Sky Bet. ‘I think they will be a bit better. They have quality and the recruitment, but you can’t look beyond Liverpool and Man City.’

Keane’s former team United are undergoing huge change this summer with the arrival of Erik ten Hag and the departures of players like Pogba, and the former Red Devils skipper believes that they could in the future compete for the title.

He added: ‘The manager no doubt will be given money to spend, how he recruits, four or five experienced players have left the club, which I think is a good thing.

‘But I still don’t see United competing with Liverpool and Manchester City, not just yet.’

Together, Man City and Liverpool have won the last five Premier League titles, and both have signed and sold key players this transfer window.

City have signed Erling Haaland and Kalvin Phillips but have sold attackers Raheem Sterling and Gabriel Jesus to rivals Chelsea and Arsenal.

Meanwhile Liverpool have signed Darwin Nunez for what could end up being a club-record deal, but he is replacing Sadio Mane who has left for Bayern Munich.

With all this in mind, Keane is backing Man City: ‘Brilliant players, they’ve obviously improved with an unbelievable striker [Haaland] and they’ve got one of the greatest managers ever in Pep [Guardiola].
