Klopp gives update on Sadio Mane injury after Liverpool beat Wolves

In an otherwise good night for Jurgen Klopp, with his side Liverpool beating Wolverhampton Wanderers 2-1 away from home, Mane’s injury was still a major concern.

Mane was forced off in the first half of their Premier League game with Wolves just moments after trying to link up with Mohamed Salah for a counter-attack.

Rather than continuing to chase the ball, The Senegal international wandered towards the touchline, went to ground and had to be taken off.

There were no obvious signs he was in serious pain but he did went down the tunnel to receive treatment – a worrying sight for the Premier League leaders.

Jurgen Klopp was quizzed on Mane’s injury after the game – in which Roberto Firmino’s late winner settled the clash after earlier goals from Henderson and Raul Jimenez – and the German confirmed it was a ‘muscle tweak’.

‘Sadio is a real shame he had to go off. Hopefully it’s not too bad -just a muscle tweak but we will see tomorrow.’

He added that he expects to be without the forward for matches against West Ham and Southampton next week.

‘It’s difficult enough. Sunday Shrewsbury, Wednesday West Ham, Saturday Southampton. That’s tough,’ Klopp said.

‘We have to find solutions for all the games and that’s probably without Sadio.’

On the title race, Jurgen Klopp said: ‘It’s over when it’s over, not before.

‘So why should we really think about it? Let’s carry on. It’s difficult enough. We have to find solutions for the different games then we will see.’
