Liverpool target Martin Zubimendi was officially unveiled as Arsenal’s newest signing on Sunday evening.
The Spanish midfielder joins from Real Sociedad, having signed a five-year deal after the Gunners activated his £51 million release clause.
Zubimendi becomes Arsenal’s second addition of the summer, following the arrival of ex-Chelsea goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga, with more high-profile signings expected before the new Premier League season kicks off.
Now, it seems another heavily rumored target is nearing a move, after a leaked image showed him arriving at Arsenal’s Sobha Realty Training Centre.
With both Jorginho and Thomas Partey departing after their contracts expired, it’s clear Arsenal are prioritizing midfield reinforcements.
While Zubimendi is expected to play a key role in Mikel Arteta’s setup, recent reports suggest Arsenal have also finalized a deal for Brentford captain Christian Nørgaard.
Though the club has yet to make an official announcement, a fan shared a photo online showing the Danish international arriving at the training ground alongside sporting director Andrea Berta.
The image, reportedly taken on Tuesday afternoon, has fueled speculation that the transfer is complete.
According to The Athletic, Arsenal will pay an initial £10 million for Nørgaard, with an additional £2 million in performance-related bonuses.
The 31-year-old has already passed his medical and is expected to be announced as Arsenal’s third summer signing in the coming days.
Nørgaard joined Brentford in 2019 and played a pivotal role in their rise to the Premier League, making 196 appearances for the club.
Last season, he featured in 34 league matches and scored five goals—his highest tally in a single campaign.
