Newcastle secured a dominant 4-1 victory, with Harvey Barnes netting twice and additional goals coming from Sandro Tonali and Bruno Guimaraes. Manchester United’s lone goal came from Alejandro Garnacho.
During Sky Sports’ Monday night coverage, Henry took aim at Yoro for his reaction following Barnes’ second goal.
The young defender was seen glancing around in the aftermath, a gesture that clearly frustrated Henry.
The Frenchman said: “Leny Yoro doesn’t go back to try and defend. The desire was on Newcastle’s side. They’re just not good enough.
“Pause on Yoro. I don’t know why… I don’t know what he is looking at? Are you looking at the linesman, trying to see if he is going to bail you out, I don’t know?”
Henry added: “I don’t know if he thought there was an offside. We all know it’s a goal. What are you looking at? I actually don’t know. I’ve never seen that before.”
Sky Sports has since taken down the video, and Jamie Carragher is also said to have deleted a post in which he had replied using four crying emojis.
On Tuesday, Yoro ended his silence on social media by sharing a photo of himself from the Newcastle game on his Instagram story.
Accompanying the picture was a quote which read: “Don’t worry about anything, but in all your prayers ask God for what you need, always asking him with a thankful heart. Philippians 4:6”
The 19-year-old made his move to Manchester United during the summer transfer window for a reported fee of £52 million.
Expectations were high for Yoro, especially after he opted to join the Red Devils despite strong interest from La Liga giants Real Madrid.
Unfortunately, his start at United was far from ideal, as he picked up an injury during the club’s pre-season tour.
Since recovering, the French centre-back has featured in 25 matches across all competitions, finding the net once.
With only six Premier League games remaining, United sit 14th in the table with 38 points.
They return to action on Thursday night as they face Lyon at Old Trafford in the Europa League.
