Leny Yoro, the Lille defender, has made his preference known regarding a potential summer move to Liverpool, despite drawing attention from various Premier League clubs and international teams.
The towering 6ft 2in 18-year-old has had an impressive season, featuring in 32 games for Lille in Ligue 1.

His outstanding performance secured him a place in the France Olympics team, though he missed out on Euro 2024.
European giants, including Real Madrid, have shown interest in Yoro, with reports from Spain’s Mundo Deportivo on Monday indicating Liverpool’s €50 million bid to outdo competitors.
Nevertheless, Lille turned down the bid, holding out for their €60 million valuation of the prodigy—a figure Real Madrid appears hesitant to meet this summer.
According to the Daily Express, Yoro’s ideal move would be to Real Madrid, following a trend set by Ligue 1 talents like Kylian Mbappe, Aurelien Tchouameni, Eduardo Camavinga, and Ferland Mendy who all headed for the Bernabeu.
The report also suggests that a switch to the Premier League isn’t preferred for Yoro. However, talks could start if it’s evident that Real won’t meet Lille’s price.
Fabrizio Romano has confirmed Liverpool’s strong interest in signing the young defender.
Speaking on his YouTube channel, Romano said: “Liverpool really like Leny Yoro, and they are also in the race with PSG and other clubs in case Real Madrid will not go for him.
“Liverpool is one to watch. The interest is genuine and the player is aware of Liverpool’s interest. They are waiting to see what happens with Real Madrid.”
