Liverpool are poised to break their wage structure to secure a highly-regarded player from a fellow Premier League club.

The new Liverpool manager has already made his mark on the team by eliminating one of Jurgen Klopp’s pre-season traditions.
He intends to make a significant impact during the summer transfer window, with one player set to leave Anfield following the Dutch coach’s arrival.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Slot’s Liverpool are nearing a deal to sign Rio Ngumoha from Chelsea, a move that would surpass the club’s academy wage structure.
On X, the transfer expert wrote: “Liverpool are closing in on deal to sign Rio Ngumoha (2008) as he’s leaving Chelsea Academy. #LFC are set to break historical wage structure for Academy to sign Rio, who’s highly rated by the club.
“Deal set to be completed soon.”
Slot and Liverpool are determined to sign the promising young winger and are willing to break their wage structure to finalize the transfer.
The club reportedly holds the 15-year-old in high regard, and a deal is expected to be concluded soon.
Ngumoha could soon be playing alongside stars like Virgil van Dijk and Mohamed Salah at Liverpool.
Both Van Dijk and Salah have been rumored to leave the club, as they each have just one year remaining on their current contracts.
However, Slot is confident that the two Liverpool first-team stars will remain with the club and still possess the ‘hunger to win’.
“I think in general every top player wants to win,” he said in his first press conference for the Reds.
“I am hoping Virgil wants to win the Euros first, and then when he comes back after a few days of holidays, he will want to win like all players.
“They have the hunger to win. If you don’t have that, you’re not playing for a club like Liverpool.”
