With only three months left in the season, there is growing worry among supporters that star players Trent Alexander-Arnold, Virgil van Dijk, and Salah could all depart as free agents this summer. ..Continue Reading
Negotiations for the three players have reportedly been ongoing since the start of the season, but none of them have announced new deals with the club yet.
Now, Liverpool fans fear they have received another setback regarding Salah’s future after hearing his unsettling remarks in a recent interview.
Salah is arguably having his best season for Liverpool, with 30 goals and 21 assists in 38 appearances so far.
Throughout the season, he has been transparent about his contract negotiations, indicating that he may leave in the summer.
In his latest interview with Liverpool legend Steve McManaman, Salah seemed to reinforce this sentiment as he reflected on his time with the club.
“I want fans to remember that I gave it all to the fans,” Salah told TNT Sports.
“I gave it all to the city. I was here, I wasn’t lazy, I just enjoyed my football and gave it all.
“I think that’s what the city is about – they give you love and you have a connection with them because you give your all.
“I just want them to remember that I was here for eight years and I gave it all.”
McManaman then followed up by asking Salah directly about his future plans, to which the Egyptian forward replied: “In a very polite way [no].”
Reacting to the comments on social media, one fan wrote: “We’re not ready for a goodbye just yet, Mohamed.”
Another agreed, writing: “Sounds like he’s preparing us for a goodbye.:
And one frustrated fan added: “It would be unforgivable if Salah leaves at the end of the season. Fsg need to do something.”
