Liverpool offer Marouane Fellaini a three-year deal

Liverpool are interested in signing Marouane Fellaini and have offered the Belgian a three-year deal, according to L’Equipe.

The Belgium international has endured a mixed spell at Manchester United since joining in 2013 and has helped the club to win the FA Cup and Europa League, but is yet to hit the form he was known for at Everton.

His spell at Old Trafford seems to be coming to an end, however he is expected to leave as he had rejected several offers to stay at the club.

A number of European teams are reported to be interested in his services, but L’Equipe claim Liverpool have moved to sign the 30-year-old and even offered him a contract.

Fellaini was unable to play a single game for United in February due to injury and has missed the last two matches because of a reported knee problem.

Reports in France say Paris Saint-Germain and Monaco are interested in signing Fellaini but will face major competition from Liverpool.

Speaking previously in the year, Mourinho said he ‘wanted’ Fellaini to stay at the club but admitted he could leave.

‘Is he going to stay or leave? I don’t know,’ Mourinho said. ‘I want him to stay, the club want him to stay.

‘The process, the negotiations, the numbers, the distances between the offer and what he wants, I really don’t know.’
