Although heavily linked with Newcastle’s Alexander Isak for weeks, Liverpool opted to pursue a deal for Hugo Ekitike from Eintracht Frankfurt instead.
That move followed earlier signings of Florian Wirtz, Jeremie Frimpong, and Milos Kerkez earlier in the window.
But Liverpool haven’t just focused on arrivals—several squad members have also been tipped for potential exits this summer.
A leaked photo of Arne Slot’s squad for Sunday’s closed-door friendly has led fans to speculate about the next departure.
Liverpool cruised to a 5–0 victory over Stoke City at the AXA Training Centre, with Darwin Nunez netting three and Rio Ngumoha and Federico Chiesa adding one each.
Journalist Ben Pescod shared an image of the team sheet, revealing that Slot fielded a strong side featuring Wirtz, Mo Salah, and Virgil van Dijk.
However, Luis Diaz was notably missing from the squad—fueling speculation, especially given recent transfer links to Barcelona and Bayern Munich.
Reacting to the news, one fan wrote: “Diaz not in the squad for Stoke, certainly looks like he’s off. What do we think the final figure we agree upon will be for him?”
While another said: “Luis Diaz didn’t feature at all in today’s behind closed door friendly against Stoke City. Looks like his move to Bayern is close then.”
And one wrote: “Hmm … not impressed. Happy for Diaz to stay but his head is on more money.”
A fresh report surfaced shortly after transfer expert Fabrizio Romano revealed that Bayern Munich plan to submit another offer for Luis Díaz, identifying him as their primary target.
With Barcelona having just finalized a deal for Marcus Rashford, it seems Bayern are now the sole contenders actively pursuing the Colombian winger.
Alisson Becker and Alexis Mac Allister were also absent from the squad list, but since there’s no indication either player is considering an exit, their omission hasn’t sparked concern among supporters.
Harvey Elliott’s exclusion, however, has stirred speculation about a possible departure, especially with multiple Premier League clubs reportedly interested in him.
Following the initial buzz around Díaz’s potential exit, new reports suggest Liverpool may be eyeing Real Madrid’s Rodrygo as a replacement.
The Brazilian forward is said to be available for a fee between €60 million and €80 million, having expressed dissatisfaction with his limited playing time under new boss Xabi Alonso.
