The club is also in advanced discussions with Hugo Ekitike, having reached a six-year agreement with the striker, which appears to have paved the way for Díaz to push for an exit from Anfield.
The Colombian international, widely regarded as a top-tier talent, has drawn serious interest from Bayern Munich and informed Liverpool of his desire to leave after the German side submitted an initial offer.
That bid was turned down as it fell short of Liverpool’s valuation, and manager Arne Slot is reportedly keen to retain Díaz for the upcoming campaign.
With only two years left on his current deal, Díaz has now made his intentions clear, agreeing to personal terms with Bayern that include a lucrative salary and performance bonuses.
Bayern remain optimistic about reaching an agreement with Liverpool, knowing the player is eager to make the move.
However, Liverpool are holding firm, placing an £86 million price tag on the 28-year-old to deter suitors.
Vincent Kompany has already approved the transfer as Bayern seek a replacement for Leroy Sané, though it’s uncertain whether the club is willing to meet Liverpool’s asking price, suggesting the saga could continue for some time.
