The 27-year-old has only one year left on his contract with Chelsea but the club are looking to trim their squad this summer.
AC Milan, meanwhile, have already had success with Chelsea signings in recent years with Fikayo Tomori and Giroud playing a vital role in their Serie A title victory last season.
