Loftus-Cheek’s stance on joining Leicester as part of Wesley Fofana deal

Ruben Loftus-Cheek is not interested in leaving Chelsea and does not want to be included in a part-exchange bid to sign Wesley Fofana, despite the interest from Leicester.

The Foxes are keen on landing the England midfielder, who is out of favour at Stamford Bridge.

The 26-year-old has so far failed to reach his potential in west London, despite his obvious talent.

Brendan Rodgers’ main strength is his ability to bring out the best in under-performing players and a move to the Midlands has been touted, majorly given Chelsea’s interest in Fofana.

The Blues are keen to bring down Leicester’s £80million asking price for the Frenchman by offering players to go in the opposite direction and Rodgers is keen on Loftus-Cheek.

But the Telegraph claim the London-born midfielder has ‘no desire’ in joining the Foxes, nor leaving the London side at all this summer.

Chelsea have already agreed personal terms with Brighton defender Marc Cucurella after hijacking Manchester City’s negotiations for the Spaniard.

The Seagulls have put a £50m asking price on Cucurella but City were only willing to pay up to £32m – which is the fee they received from Arsenal for Oleksandr Zinchenko.

Tuchel wants huge competition for Ben Chilwell at left wing-back, while Cucurella is also capable of playing as a left centre-back.

The German head coach wants the same on the other flank, with Chelsea keen to sign competition for Reece James.

Chelsea will then focus on signing a central defender and another forward, while players like Timo Werner, Hakim Ziyech, Marcos Alonso and Ross Barkley could leave.
