Reports by journalist Florian Plettenberg suggest that despite Antony’s recent improvement in form, Manchester United are still open to selling him if they receive attractive offers.
This move is aimed at freeing up space in the squad and generating funds for new signings.
Antony, who was brought to the club for £86 million by former manager Erik ten Hag, has not been a regular starter under Amorim.
The left-wing position is typically occupied by Marcus Rashford or Alejandro Garnacho, while Amad Diallo takes the right-wing spot. Despite his previous success under Ten Hag at Ajax, Antony’s move to Manchester United has not been fruitful.
Antony’s impact has been limited, with off-field issues also affecting his time at the club. Last season, he managed just one Premier League goal in 29 appearances, which is disappointing for a player at a top club like Manchester United.
Amorim and the club’s management are reportedly making the tough decision to let Antony go, recognizing the need for more effective players in the starting lineup.
