Manchester United have made a ‘forceful’ attempt to sign Euro 2024 winner Dani Olmo, competing with Barcelona, Manchester City, and Chelsea.
Olmo, 26, shone during the recent Euros, participating in six out of Spain’s seven matches as Luis de la Fuente’s team claimed their fourth European Championship title.

The RB Leipzig star has caught the attention of top European clubs, with Barcelona, Man City, Chelsea, Liverpool, Arsenal, and Bayern Munich all linked to summer bids.
Manchester United have also shown interest in Olmo, and according to Spanish outlet AS, they have now made a ‘forceful’ effort to secure his services.
The Red Devils have already added Dutch forward Joshua Zirkzee and French defender Leny Yoro to their ranks this summer, but they aim to further strengthen Erik ten Hag’s squad before the new season.
Barcelona could be United’s toughest competition for Olmo, but the Spanish club is currently prioritizing a deal for his Spain teammate Nico Williams, who scored in the Euro 2024 final against England.
Olmo has a release clause set at €60m (£52m), which can only be activated before July 20.
The highly regarded player has made 148 appearances for RB Leipzig since his transfer from Dinamo Zagreb in 2020, contributing to the club’s two domestic trophy wins.
Olmo spoke about the speculation surrounding his future towards the end of Euro 2024, warning that potential suitors will face a ‘fight’ to sign him unless they meet his release clause.
‘My people know what I want to do… I have too much to do with the Euros to be thinking about other things,’ he said before the final in Berlin.
‘I have a contract with Leipzig and we have a very good relationship. There will be no problem.
‘My 60 million clause until July 20? You know what you have to do. If not, you’ll have to fight a little later.’
Manchester United recently confirmed their acquisition of Lille defender Yoro, having made Zirkzee their first summer signing.
‘Signing for a club with the stature and ambition of Manchester United so early in my career is an incredible honour,’ said Yoro, who was previously linked with Real Madrid, PSG, and Liverpool before moving to Old Trafford.
