The team triumphed 3-2 over their opponents, thanks to goals from Kobbie Mainoo, Amad Diallo, and Rasmus Hojlund.
Before the game commenced, footage surfaced on social media showing Rashford in what seemed to be a heated dialogue with a supporter.
The exact remarks made by the fan towards Rashford have now been disclosed.
As reported by the Daily Mirror, the supporter shouted: “Why don’t you go?” on the back of recent reports regarding Rashford’s future.
Another fan then said: “Rashford, don’t listen to him!”
Eventually, Rashford was pulled away by his Man United teammate Christian Eriksen. He was later brought on in the 83rd minute, in place of Mainoo.
Speaking after the game, Ten Hag said: “On behalf of the players, the staff and myself, we want to thank you for the brilliant support during the season.
“As you know it wasn’t an easy season, but one thing remained constant and that was the backing of you for the team. But the season is not over yet, first we travel to Brighton to get three points and then we go to Wembley.”
He added: “And I promise you that those players will give everything to win the cup and bring it to Old Trafford. And we are sure you will be there supporting us. So thank you, you are the best supporters in the world.”
When asked about Rashford’s incident, the Dutchman said: “I felt the fans, they were all very positive about the mood, spirit and ambiance in the stadium. That is very good and it shows the strong bond between the team and the fans.”
