Man Utd fans can’t believe what Onana did after Harry Maguire completed comeback vs Lyon

Manchester United’s Europa League quarter-final clash with Lyon turned out to be a dramatic ordeal for goalkeeper Andre Onana.

United pulled off a remarkable turnaround during extra time in the second leg at Old Trafford, giving Onana a moment of redemption after being harshly branded “the worst goalkeeper in Man Utd history” ahead of the first leg. ..Continue Reading

United held a 4-2 lead on aggregate after scoring twice at home, but Lyon quickly responded with two goals in just seven minutes from Corentin Tolisso and Nicolas Tagliafico, leveling the tie.

The French side pushed the game into extra time but were forced to play the additional half hour with only ten men after Tolisso was dismissed for a second yellow card just before the end of regulation.

What followed nearly turned the tie against United.
Despite being a player down, Lyon surged ahead 4-2 on the night with a low-driven shot from the lively Rayan Cherki and a penalty converted by Alexandre Lacazette, either side of the extra-time break.

With just six minutes left, Ruben Amorim’s side began their comeback. A penalty from Bruno Fernandes reignited their hopes before quickfire goals from Kobbie Mainoo and Harry Maguire flipped the script, with Maguire’s towering header in stoppage time sealing the win.

Moments after the decisive goal, Onana was struck by severe cramp, drawing attention from fans online.

While cramp is a common issue for outfield players leading late in intense European matches, it’s less typical for goalkeepers—making Onana’s discomfort particularly noticeable.

“Got a cramp afterwards, dances too much that Onana,” parped one user on X, formerly Twitter.

Another posted that, “Onana going down with cramp sums that game up.”

“Onana kills me bruh,” chuckled one happy fan before making an outrageous accusation. “Went to celebrate a goal and on his way back faked a cramp.”

“Onana celebrating like only a man who’s conceded 4 goals can and then getting cramp,” wrote another user.

“Onana has a cramp for what??????” asked one poster on X before another unwittingly provided the answer amid a torrent of emoji: “Onana got cramp from celebrating.”

The under-fire goalkeeper quickly recovered and Man United move on to face Athletic Bilbao in the Europa League semi-final next month.
